Classics Revisited

Oct 21–Nov 11 (Wednesday evenings); The Friday Center

Attendance: 30

This course looks at modern writers who pay homage to great works of art, such as Beowulf and King Lear, by echoing the story-line and structure but making the message appear quaint, if not laughable. Participants examine this phenomenon and try to account for the differences in these works by analyzing their themes and looking at the contexts in which they were written. Part of the Community Classroom Series.
