The Epidemiology of Infection Control in Dentistry: Principles and Particulars of Protection

Staying Ahead of the Curve: Lawsuits, Regulations and Patient Safety—the Dots Do Connect for Proactive Dentists

Emphasis is placed on avoiding such claims by proactive implementation of appropriate protocols and procedures. CITA Manikin-based Prosthodontic Examination Preparation Course: A Hands-On Review

This course is designed for dental professionals who want to prepare to take the CITA manikin-based exam or simply want a comprehensive crown and bridge review. It provides a detailed review of crown preparation techniques required to successfully pass the prosthodontics portion of the CITA exam and to make more predictable restorations with better outcomes and durability. Participants use typodonts to make crown preparations such as ceramic, porcelain fused-to-metal, and full metal preparations required by the CITA exam, and get immediate feedback from UNC prosthodontics faculty.

Physical Assessment of Adults

This course for public health nurses focuses on obtaining health histories and conducting complete physical assessments of adults. Successful completion of the eight-week course and the six-month clinical practicum enables participants to meet the Medicaid requirements for billing Health Promotion Services, MOU with the local health departments. It requires three days of didactic training (via videoconference) and one day of onsite training.

12-Lead EKG Interpretation

This interactive class is designed for healthcare providers who are required to be competent in 12-lead EKG interpretation. It includes case studies of 12-lead EKGs to enhance application in the clinical setting. Knowledge of basic EKG rhythms is encouraged as a prerequisite. Principle Applications of Radiation Safety
