This program features art in the exhibition Piece by Piece: Quilts, Collages, and Constructions. Make your own paper “quilt” or other collages at the Creation Station. Participants may go on a treasure hunt in the Museum’s galleries or gather around for story time. Recommended for children four to eight years old. This children’s program looks at what happens when a new work of art comes into the Ackland Art Museum. The children follow the path the art takes, meet some of the people who take care of the art in the Ackland’s collection and put it on the walls, see what it takes to make an exhibition, and then practice being a curator by designing their own galleries.
