This week-long course is intended to provide infection preventionists with the opportunity to dvelop their knowledge of healthcare-associated infections and to improve their skills in clinical surveillance.

Successful completion of both “Infection Control Part I: Clinical Surveillance of Healthcare-Associated Infections” and “Infection Control Part II: The Infection Control Prac-titioner as an Environmentalist” offered by the Statewide Program for Infection Control and Epidemiology will meet the requirements of the North Carolina Infection Control law 10A NCAC 41A.0206 for attending an approved course. The course will be held at the Friday Center in Chapel Hill. It is limited to 50 participants and will be filled on a first-to-register basis. CEUs will be awarded.

Registration

Preregistration is required. The course is limited to 50 participants and will be filled on a first-to-register basis. CEUs will be awarded. For North Carolina residents, the fee is $475. For out-of-state residents, the fee is $525. Monday and Tuesday lunches and a comprehensive notebook are included. If you have special needs to accommodate a motor or sensory impairment, please indicate your needs on the registration form.

A full refund, less a $100 administrative fee, will be made to registered individuals who cancel their registration prior to April 13. Cancellations must be received in writing. We regret that no refunds can be made after April 13. Substitutions may be made at any time.

Housing

Blocks of rooms have been reserved at two area hotels. Call to make your own reservation, using the group name “Infection Control.”

Hampton Inn and Suites. $89 plus 12.75 percent tax for standard king or two double beds.For a king suite the cost is $111 plus 12.75 percent tax. Call 919-403-8700 before March 30 to make your reservation. The hotel is located at 5121 Farrington Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27517, about two miles from the Friday Center. The hotel provides continental breakfast, van transportation to and from the Friday Center upon request, plus evening transportation to The Streets at Southpoint shopping center.

Marriot Courtyard Chapel Hill. $129 plus 12.75 percent tax for a double room with two queen beds. Call 919-883-0700 before April 5 to make your reservation. The hotel is located off Friday Center Drive at 100 Marriott Way, Chapel Hill, NC 27517, within walking distance of the Friday Center. The hotel restaurant is open for breakfast.
