Food and Beverage Services

The William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Education contracts with a catering service to provide for your complete food and beverage needs. Food service arrangements must be made with the Center’s designated caterer.

The information that follows is a general guide to food and beverage services available at the Friday Center. We will be happy to assist you in planning food service for your program. See the Catering Guide for more details. Additional menus for catered functions are available upon request.

Refreshment Breaks

Included in the per-person per-day fee for use of the Friday Center are refreshment breaks each day. In the morning, your meeting participants will be served coffee, tea, decaffeinated coffee, assorted juices, sodas, fresh fruits, yogurt, eggs, and a selection of bagels and other specialty breads. In the afternoon, we provide coffee, tea, decaffeinated coffee, assorted sodas, juices, fruit, and a selection of freshly baked goods.

If your program requires a special break, the Center Caterer can work with you to plan an appropriate menu.

Regular Luncheon Service

The Trillium Dining Room offers a buffet luncheon with several menu selections and reserved seating. Lunch is served from 11:30 am–1:30 pm Monday through Friday. Groups having lunch during their event at the Friday Center are issued vouchers. This convenient method enables us to bill you for lunch after your event. Weekend dining service in the Trillium is available with an $800 minimum. Other dining services or locations will be made available if the minimum is not met.

Special Food Service

The Friday Center Caterer can provide service for your special food events, such as private breakfasts, luncheons, receptions, and dinners. Your Conference Services Coordinator can provide you with more information. Additional space rental fees may also apply; see Fees.

Alcoholic Beverages

Alcoholic beverages (mixed drinks, beer, wine, and cordials) may be served under terms and conditions consistent with the applicable laws of the State of North Carolina and policies of the University and the Friday Center. Cash bars are not allowed. If you are planning an event that includes the serving of alcoholic beverages, your Conference Services Coordinator will discuss the alcoholic beverage policy with you in detail. A representative of your group will be requested to sign an agreement with the Center indicating that your group assumes responsibility for compliance with applicable laws and policies. This document must be received at least two weeks prior to the event, and will be kept in the file for your event.
