Tutorial Independent Study
Tutorial independent study is a procedure by which students in certain situations can enroll in UNC-Chapel Hill or NCSU undergraduate courses not listed in this catalog. Tutorial independent study is handled on an exceptional basis and requires special approvals. It is not recommended if you can arrange the courses you need through other means, and it cannot be used as a means of enrolling in a course offered on campus, taking unstructured "readings" courses, or restoring academic eligibility.
In order to apply for tutorial independent study you must identify and contact an instructor at UNC-Chapel Hill or NCSU who is willing to enter into a special tutorial arrangement with you. Based on your discussions with the instructor, you must complete the necessary forms and then obtain approvals.
